Mardi Gras comes around once a year on the day before Ash Wednesday. It's a fun-filled conclusion to the festival of Carnival; the final day to let loose and have fun before fasting begins. We at Lee's Ford thought, "Why wait a full year for the fun to return when we can throw a Mardi Gras party now?". Well, that's exactly what we're doing!

On August 30th (Labor Day weekend), we invite you to join us in celebrating Mardi Gras in August on the docks! Slip customers are encouraged to decorate their boats in a Mardi Gras theme to compete for beads and prizes!

A big part of the yearly celebration is dressing up in vibrant and extravagant costumes, and we'll be holding another contest for best Mardi Gras outfit, Crowning a King and Queen of Mardi Gras 2008!

Finally, with all the contests and fun going on, Johnny Neel and Criminal Element with special guest Bob Ralson will rock the docks starting at 8:30pm and going into the night, sealing the event with their musical magic! Beads, masks, and other Mardi Gras related items will be available at the Ship Store, and all proceeds will be going to next year's event to help make it an even bigger and better extravaganza!
