To all our customers

Lee’s Ford’s covered slips sustained significant damage from the rapid ice accumulation followed by 18-24 inches of snow. This is the worst snow event in the history of Lee’s Ford. 60 plus years.

We have been in contact with our insurance company working to get crews on site and making preparations for repair and replacement.

Currently it is too dangerous to get on the structures. We will be using Fire Hoses to remove the snow and weight. This has to be done as higher temperatures allow so as to not increase the weight. This will take several days.

Everything is being done that can be at this point. Nothing else can be done immediately.

In total approximately 247 covered slips are affected. K dock and the large section of covered C dock seem to be OK at this point.

I dock collapsed. J dock primarily collapsed, F and E roof lines are almost into the water and the roof lines seems to be significantly twisted. G dock is severely twisted and listing. Part of D has collapsed and the other section is severely twisted.

We do not see damage to uncovered slips at this point.

For safety we are;

1.  Baring all foot traffic on the affected docks.  It’s too dangerous. These structures could fail in other ways injuring or even causing fatalities.

2. We are asking that customers not come to the dock until weather warms and walkways are made safe. In about a week it should be fine. You will be able to see your boat from water by pontoon in about a week.

3.  Owners with affected boats should notify their insurance agent.  Allow adjusters as much time as possible.

We always get the job done.  This will be no exception. We will have everything back to normal in time for Boating season.

We will post updates on progress. Thanks for your patience.

Keep us in your prayers as we will you.

Best Wishes
